I followed a co-worker to my first town board meeting tonight. I chose to go with Garrett because he has the Torch Lake beat and I heard it was the most exciting of the Keweenaw area mining township meetings. Not like a Keweenaw area township meeting could be exciting, but I did get a laugh out of this one.

The board supervisor adjourned the meeting because someone verbally attacked him and said it was inappropriate of him to say that town residents wanting to come to a town meeting is an abomination. Then this woman who hadn't gotten a chance to speak before the meeting was adjourned got all pissed off and started bitching. And then old people boo-ed. And I had a grand ole' time because I'm sitting there all dressed up surrounded by ancient Yoopers who are sitting around in the dirty jeans booing at their town board supervisor. Something about it just struck a humorous chord with me.

Anyway, I probably shouldn't talk that way about Yoopers. I really like them. It's just funny is all.

I like my co-workers though. Brad and Garrett are pretty darn cool. Finally two people in the U.P. with the same sense of humor as me. Too bad they like Star Wars.
