For tonights misadventure, I get to make a buddist monk costume for my brother. You might think it's all in the wrapped fabric, but alas, he had to pick the 3 piece version so he could run around commando under the lovely orange sarong.
Friday night is zombie walk and for us it's a bit of a passion. We were there for it inseption and have been a part of making the magic happen every time. Of course the costume is a big decision in making sure you give the right impression, and having a certian meaning for you is always quite magical. As I was saying, I've been sewing since I got off work, came home and found yards of orange fabric and my sewing machine on the dining room table. Oh domesticated bliss. I've gotten the skirt done and the majority of the under tunic but it's giving me a small fit, and I've set it aside for the time being. Now it's on to the lovely wrap that will drape so majestically across his dorky chest. I'm going to make a set of prayer beads to be dipped in blood. Yay gore.
I've already gotten my costume together, I'm going to *pauses dramatically* be a boxer. Yeah.. I know... but it seemed like a great idea at the time and my instructer gave me some dead moldy gloves from his old days as a boxer. They've been rotting in his garage for a couple years. They're NASTY! But it will suit my purposes beautifully.
Okay.. back to the sewing grind. I need to get this wrap finished, cause the belt still needs to be made.
