I was gravely disappointed and let down yesterday by a friend. I'm not sure why these things shock me, or I let them get to me any more. But it hurt being let down like that. I haven't really decided what I want to do about it. I'll give it some time and we'll see I guess.
Today however, other friends pulled together and a great time was had by all. I began a plot on Sunday to have a small gathering of friends come over and watch Punisher: War Zone. A couple gals and several boys all agreed that this would be a wonderful thing to do. Sooo, after work I scampered over to grocery store to pick up some items for a BBQ. Hot dogs and all the fixings with some Strawberry Shortcake for dessert. I make it back to the house and Curtis arrives with a wonderous plot to concoct fake blood for the Zombie Walk on Friday. After rumaging in the cupboards we pulled out all the necessary ingredients except some chocolate syrup and or cocoa powder.
The experiments began and a large quantity of corn syrup, dye and starch were mixed in crazy ways. We ran to the store to grab the chocolate syrup and some whipping cream for the shortcake. Let me just say we got some looks when a long haired 6'8" man and a 5'nothing lil red head are buying nothing but chocolate syrup and whipping cream. Magic!
We got back to the mixing and testing, the boys began to arrive. Next thing you know it's just me and 5 guys playing with fake blood in the kitchen. There's nothing quite like it. Needless to say I now have 7 bottles of blood and stained hands.
The food was great, the guys killed off just about everything. Jaime and Mia decided not to come so I got to be the only gal, sprawled on a couch full of boy-os. Life is good! The movie was excellent! I love me some comic book movies, not to mention the gore factor in this one is top notch. The evening was a success with beer, boys and blood. What more can a gal ask for?

curioustomcat:
I recently bought the "Heavy Metal" movie on dvd again. I promised a friend to watch it with her just to find out that the dvd had disappeared.

I refered to the comic movies not the "let down". Sorry, if you misunderstood.
