I think I spend too much time alone. I do enjoy my alone time to a point. It gives me time to relax. Time to do things for myself. Time to think, but too much time to think tends to turn into a bad thing. I've been dying to meet new people, because let's face it, I need distractions from things I want but can't have, and if I'm sitting at home by myself for too long, I think about those things too much. That, or I sit here and poke my cat in the eye, or make sandwiches naked. Either way, I need to get out.
Speaking of cats, mine can be a creepy bitch sometimes. Some of my friends can confirm this. She will sit in dark corners and just give you this creepy stare, as if to be stealing your soul. The other night, she was lying on the back of the couch like this, not moving, nor blinking:
As it turns out, my cat isn't the only creepy feline in the land. In fact, a new study finds that cats really do control humans. I'm seriously not making this up. Think I'm joking? Read it here.
Ah, work. Work work work. My job, like many, is going through hard times. I am thankful to at least still have a decent job, as many out there are struggling to even find decent work, but things are looking a bit grim at my place of employment. A while back, they cut our hours down to 32 a week, as an attempt to avoid layoffs. By next quarter, they reevaluated the situation, and ended up having to cut some jobs anyway. I managed to keep myself off that list, but I'm still covering my ass just to be safe. 2nd quarter, the situation was evaluated again, and we are still working 32 hours a week until the end of September, where it will once again be evaluated. Now, I'm going to be honest. I have no complaints about having 3-day weekends every week. This shit has been pretty freaking sweet, and it's going to be a rough adjustment when the time comes to work 5 days a week again. So for now, I am going to enjoy it while it lasts. I'm just looking for ways to keep myself busy. I want something other than the usual downtown bars. I also want to go to some damn concerts.
Well, I'm off to attempt sleep. Got something I must deal with in the morning. I shouldn't have made that illegal U-turn.
Rawr.
