I was "tagged" a couple of weeks ago and asked to write 20 random facts about myself. I kept putting it off, but, well, better late than never.
1) Used to play the accordian. I was really good; as in I finished 3rd in North America in a competition for my age group.
2) I'm a hopeless romantic. I try not to be, but I can't help myself.
3) My dad is sick, which is why I can't move out, even if I could afford to. But it frustrates me to be so far from civilization, and to be under the yoke of parental units.
4) I love playing sports video games. Which is amusing considering I hate playing sports.
5) My favourite play is Othello. People consider it the most flawed of all his plays, but I like it the best, because all the characters are flawed.
6) What I really want to do with my life is to be a writer.
7) If there is one thing I wish I could do, it would be to sing. But I can't, and it bothers me. Funny that my friends want me to be the lead singer in thier band.
8) I crush on people constantly. Not usually seriously, but I still get all dreamy eyed for least someone. I actually feel weirder if don't have anyone to dream about.
9) I have a sailor's mouth. My dad used to be a sailor, and doesn't swear.
10) I don't like physical work. I have to, but I feel there's something wrong with me doing it. Yet I've done physical labour for every job I've ever had. Which may be a contributing factor to my post adolescent feelings of wastefullness regarding my life.
11) I love history. You want to talk about the ancient empires, or the near past events in the middle east, I'm you're man.
12) I used to live in an apartment in Huntsville, Alabama. I'm apartment backed onto the Nasa Research Station, which was neat; because I got to see little test rockets take off.
13) I used to love NFL football. And college football for that matter. But I don't even know half the players in the league anymore.
14) I'm a big fan of Babylon 5. Not quite the same level of depravity as being a Trekkie, but close.
15) I had next to no real friends in high school. There were people with whom I would hang out with during school hours, but more often than not, weekends would involve Sci-Fi channel marathons. Even when I did go out, I never really felt like I'd be missed by anyone if I wasn't there. Which most of the time, I wasn't.
16) I'm lazy. At work I try to be proactive about things so that I can't get lazy, but otherwise I like to do nothing. I don't even bother to shave half the time.
17) The places I've always wanted to visit in my life; The beaches of California, New Orleans, and the Karakoram in Mongolia. I'm weird, I know
18) I have in my life been able to drink myself into a stupor. I either drink myself sober or sick; with never a loss of self awareness to be had.
19) Because of my drinking problem, I never had sex till after high school. The only people who wanted to were usually highly intoxicated. Even if I liked the person, I couldn't do it, because I always knew that I had my faculties, even if slurring them a bit.
20) I live in the country, yet could care less for plant life. I don't even like the smell of flowers.
