As I sit now by my laptop, my neck aches, my shredded throat is sore and my hearing is impaired with slowly diminishing static - all symptoms of some good \m/ times, but I just recently came back from work, what gives? No, I did not go berserk at my work-place, it's all just physical memories of last night's Ballroom Blitz in Camden Town!
It was my first time at this recurring SG event, so I didn't really know what to expect. After clearing two longish queues, first to the door, second to the cloakroom, I went to have a look what's going on on the stage.
The crowd was gathering and slowly but surely getting into the tunes blasted at us by @mel . While musically I'm a bit of an old fart and didn't really know many of the songs, it was mostly mostly stuff I could have fun to nonetheless, and there were still a few 'classics' I could scream out the lyrics of, hell yeah!
On the side of the stage, two beautiful SGs - @sophiestonem and @disco were taking turns to rock their scarcely clad bodies to the music (sometimes even despite the music - try to dance sexy to 'Raining Blood';)), all to the delight of the audience (who can blame us?;)); restricted by a cage, lest they should cause mayhem with the amount of energy they released.
Soon it came time for an official kick off with the appearance of the night's host, @katherine who encouraged everyone to take 'a lot of fu@#ing pictures', something that I regretfully could not oblige, having left my camera at home in favour of a different kind of fun (and I don't treat phones as photographic equipment).
Anyway, the first act was introduced, and if anyone was still a little lukewarm by that time, Kat Shox certainly brought them up to the temperature with her fiery show full of flames and all other kinds of hotness!
Next up, the sexy @rebeccalotus teased us in a dress, which glamorusness could only be surpassed by the body it adorned.
Before the next attraction, some free goodies were distributed by the way of being randomly thrown from the stage in the direction of the crowd. Even those that failed to be caught mid-flight didn't lose their appeal, despite landing in a sticky mixture of of every beverage the bar had to offer, which by this time covered the majority of the floor (and was a cause of quite few of slips, hope all of you good people are fine!).
For the next number, the hostess herself shed her clothes and made everyone wish they were her stapler for a few minutes.
Soon afterwards, we were gazing in amazement at the last visual treat of the night, and a real cherry on top it was! A wonderful show of sensual pole dancing art by two incredible hopefuls - @musket and @aurorasilk - poetry in motion!
All acts over didn't mean the end of the party - the night was way too young for that! Shelly D'Inferno and Anna Dumpe took over the DJ's duties welcoming us to the jungle, which is what the dance-floor soon became. Kudos to the girls for including a Bowie song in their set - just before 3am, which was the predicted time of closing, we got to dance the 'Magic Dance'
All in all, I had a great time and it certainly looked like everybody else did as well - fantastic work everyone involved!:)
