With each beat, each drum roll, each time a note rings from the flute to the ears,The sweet sound rinses the impurities from the mind and heart. To listen to the wild music from the Great Spirit. To hear each vibration against the heart as we come alive to feel the truth and see what we truely are.Now humans but warriors for the Great One.
I sit alone at night closing my weary eyes to try and see try to imagine what it would be like to hear the fore-elders playing their spirits out.To hear the screams and curdles of soft tougue in the mind as you rise and fall to become that warrior. To feel the verses fly inside you and eat all doubt. That is what it would be like to be the Brave. To have Spirit channel our bodies to become the elite. To protect our people from the horrors of the Brutal.I sit thinking of a time my spirit was free.I know the time,The pain,The freedom.I long and cry over it.
I am of olden blood not pure but half for my father is full blooded cherokee and I learned long ago when I was the child of who we where.Even thought the ways of the old days have be en crushed the spirit still remains fierce yet weak.I have been taught alot of things thats made me the man I am today.

Half cherokee, huh? My Great-Great Grandmother was full-blood Cherokee. So, a very small amount for me, but alas, still there.
