I am EXHAUSTED!! I woke up this morning about 10:30 and headed over to the new apartment to paint around 11:30. NONE of the people who said they wanted to help showed up. I didn't even hear from any of them except my friend who had actually planned to spend the morning of his 3-year anniversary helping me paint. The only reason he didn't is because his car has been dodgy lately, and it wouldn't start this morning. Couldn't even track down anyone else. Mason and Phil were around, but they were doing their own thing, though they did stop by and take a tour of the place and Phil lent me a chair to stand on so I could reach the ceiling. I hope Phil and I can spend smoe quality time again before he heads to CA. That boy has some skillz, let me tell ya.
Anyway, apart from about 45 minutes spent getting a beer with Mason and Phil at Loco's, I painted from about 11:30 to about 7:00. Painting takes a long time. I got a lot of the living room done, and I put just a bit of paint on the walls in every room to make sure I still liked them all on the walls, which I do. I managed to get at least one coat over all the ugly, ugly stencils that were around, except the one on the bathtub that I don't know what to do with.
Whoever lived there before me had a lot more enthusiasm than talent or taste. There was one sprig of ivy stencilled on each side of the doorway between the kitchen and the living room. In the kitchen, they painted the metal below the sink and THE REFRIGERATOR an ugly, minty green that totally clashes with my pear green. So I don't know what I'm going to do about that. In the bathroom, they did a really bad job of painting the wall blue and then stencilled fish on it. Now the bathtub is one of those cool, old bathtubs, the stand-alone kind that's up on legs. THEY PAINTED AN UNDERWATER SCENE AND STENCILLED MORE FISH ON IT!!!! This considered, I'm trying to decide if it's feasible for me to have a fucking kick-ass pink tub, or if I should just get some white paint. I'll probably go white, because I think light pink walls with hot pink accessories will be a bit too much if you throw in a pink tub. Though I'm not positive. There is also some painted tiling in the bathroom, and I'm trying to decide if I want to paint it white or leave the trim white and paint pink below it. There's also a bead-board chair rail in the living room that is currently a poorly-painted shade of maroon. There is trim above and below it, and I'm painting the walls yellow. I'm trying to decide if I want to paint the trim yellow and the bead-board white or vice versa. I'm also trying to figure out how I'm going to get this all done because I can't open windows in any rooms except the kitchen, so I have to try to get ALL the painting done by Friday.
I'm going to die in the process, but at least I'll have a really awesome apartment to live in after I'm dead.

I lived in Milledgeville for a year. We had a kick ass 4 BR 2.5 BA HOUSE with a huge backyard and front porch for only $650/month. Small towns kick ass in that you can find cool places to live cheap.
