I went and saw Hank III and Those Poor Bastards last night at the Machine Shop in Flint. It was a great show and I saw a handful of old friends, plus had the chance to drink and kick the shit with obeypabst is one bad ass dude.
This is the second time I saw TPB and this time was way better, even if the drummer is new. The songs are so bad ass live, and they played alot of great tunes. I would have preferred to hear a few more, maybe ones from songs of desperation, but what they did play was great.
Hank was amazing as always, and there were three notable moments in his country set. First, the new song "the Grand Ole Opry (aint so grand anymore) was top notch, giving hope for the eventual release of another great album. Second, the country version of their Assjack Hardcore song Punch, Fight, Fuck. Damn that was amazing. And finally the rendition of DAC's Longhaired Redneck. All of it was great and moshing to country is something everyone should try, especially in michigan. I unfortunately missed a good bit of the Hellbilly stuff as I needed to get water after never leaving the pit during the country set, but I got back up for the Assjack stuff and was blown away as always. Punch Fight Fuck was great, We take pills fucking perfect, and Rise to Die was better than ever. Livin in the Gravel Pit did it for me though.
And after drinkin, moshin, and havin a good time, I was at work at six this morning. What a day it proved to be.

I was going to go to see Hank III at the Machine Shop in Flint, but bailed the last minute because I'm going to catch him in D.C. at the 9:30 club in November.
I'm sure the show was fantastic and I'm glad you caught it with a brother who managed to make the shorter trek to flint from detroit.
He's makes his grandaddy proud!
And y'all make me proud that there's some Hank III fans closer to home than I think eh.
