Found an old band of mine's demo last week. Havent listened to it in ages. It was all kinda short lived to be honest.
Ild been um'ing and ah'ing about listening to it again because it all kinda happened at a really messy time of my life and I wasnt sure how Ild react. Its only about 8 tracks long with a stupid long intro (my own fault), an interlude and a couple of tracks where I made it up as I went along blush . But some of the lines Ild forgot about and came back to haunt me. There 2 or 3 tracks where you can hear me crying at the end blush . But, dispite some of the titles and the fact im in tears through some of it, Ild like to point out, its FAR from emo!
"WhereDidAllTheFlowersGo"?
I think you owe me this!
I think you owe me more!
What does its take?
What does it take, to loose yourself.
Obsession?
Obsession?
Obsessed with you.
Get away, get away.
Dont make belive in you.
Alright.
Are you talking to me?
Who are you talk to?
Are talking to me, but you say you dont know.
I want your blood,
I want your trust,
I want your life.
I want everything.
Everything that I can get, from you.
& Ill get it!
Ill get it.
Belive me now.
Get away, get away.
Dont make belive in you.
This was also one of the songs we made a video for. All jittery and filmed on 16mm in an old derilict house just out side a park near our bass player's house. Their were no stairs to speak of and massive chunks of the roof missing leaving only beams. Which is great when you sun directly over you and the shadows of the beams cut through the dusty sunlight.
We filmed it all during 'the magic hour' which is about 20 minutes before sun down, its where the light falls really errily on everything. It took about 3 days in total, but it came out really well. You've got more artistic licence when you work with grainly film. So you can get away with people falling out of shot, sudden jolts and out-of-focus mid-shots. It didnt really have a plot of such, but we all looked beat up; black eyes, split lips, bloody noses etc and ended with me appearing to set myself on fire. Which was kind of a personal thing for me.
But I havent seen it all in so long, and to be honest I dont really want to. It was all abit fucked up and still kinda creeps me out.
That door can remain close.
