Well, for those who are interested, we didnt win the Battle of the Bands. After we had already signed up and paid our entry fee it became obvious that the show was weighted towards certain bands to take the first and second place positions. The first place spot went to this group of whiney ass bitches otherwise known as Lampwick (or Limp Dick as we like to call them). Second place spot went to a band that, as it turns out, won another Battle of the Bands type contest last year.

We are feeling very underappreciated at the moment and more than a little pissed off. If we had lost to any band other than Lampwick we would at least be satisfied that it wasnt a total waste of time, money, and effort. Im sorry but Bytch Water was far better than Lampwick, even with Ben busting a guitar string in the middle of our set, as were several other bands that played today. They didnt deserve 3rd place, let alone 1st.

This likely is one of the last shows for a while that we will try to play in Huntsville. We are tired of all the flakey ass fuckers here in town who promise to come out to shows then come up with lame excuses when we ask where the fuck they were the next day. We are already in the works of getting a good press package together and trying to book shows in Birmingham, Nashville and Memphis. I think Im going to try to get us a show booked in Tampa some time in mid-June through July, but well see how that goes. Desireah and I want to start doing research on possibly playing a show at Fantasy Fest in October and next years Fantasm in April.

It is sad when there is more enthusiasm from people in other cities to see us than people who have known us the longest. Weve gone out of our way to support the entertainment scene here in Huntsville, and when we ask for a little support we get nothing, other than a group of five or so people who are actually our friends.
