ok so i know ive been nonexistent but ive been really busy. just life i guess.
things that have happened:
- took a little vaca with the bf to my cabin. it was nice to go with someone who really wanted to be there and enjoyed it as much as i did. some fire building some tubing some drinking and alot of enjoying being alone together in the woods. o yeah and he cooked the whole time. score!
-worked a hell of a lot. coworker was on vacation so i pretty much got her hours and i was watching her dogs. hence the busy thing. but not only did i get paid handsomely from her for the dogs i just got paid today and have much more money that i usually do due to those extra hours. hell fucking yeah. i have more than $50 after bills. i can actually buy some of the things i need!
-i bought a new computer. my old toshiba is 4 years old this month. it got me through college. it has endured alot and has been showing its age. i spilled beer on it several times. the fan burnt out over a year ago thanks to a large fuzzball in it which causes it to overheat all the time which is slowly ruining my video card. my screen does weird shit because of the failing video card. the DVD player hasnt worked in several years. my wireless does weird shit. it connects for a while but then disconnects and wont reconnect until i restart. when i would turn it on i would have to let it sit for about 30 minutes before i could touch it. if i tried to do anything it would freeze and i would have to reboot. so all in all its a POS. but i have taken advantage of the back to school sales and the dramatic drop in laptop prices and purchased a toshiba satelitte c655 for #350. its nothing special but i dont do anything special except surf the web and word process. so there. ive managed to move most of the data i care about on my own. its so much nicer. im so glad i did this. and i got 18 months interest free.
other than all that hooey im just getting through things day by day. my brother is now in a half way house. the next step in his recovery from heroin. my friend in jail is now in prison. he was half an hour away but was moved 3 hours away. a bit of a bummer but ill write. work blows but i manage to ignore the things that bug me the most and simply get through my day and enjoy the people that dont drive me up a wall. still looking for a funeral job. havent heard from the place i interviewed at in may. starting to thing they lied about calling me to tell me what their decision was. i did get to see a friend of mine who i graduated with. she lives in florida and i miss her alot. she was also my roommate. shes working in a funeral home and doing really well. im so proud of her and a little jealous. i would love a funeral job. i would give anything to be able to use my college degree yet for some reason sitting down and sending more resumes is hard for me to do. i think im just really discouraged right now. i know everyone says dont give up but geez its hard when there isnt a light at the end of the tunnel or even a tunnel.
ive started reading the Sookie Stackhouse novels which are the basis for the HBO show TrueBlood. I love the show and im loving the books. they are different and im starting to think a bit better than the show. nah i think they are on par with eachother. they are easy reads and not too long so im blowing through them quickly. number 4 here i come!
ill leave you with a few pictures from my trip. i really wanna go back up for a little weekend i just cant explain how wonderful my family cabin is. so relaxing. i almost wish i could live there.
from our hike into the surrounding farmland
an old truck cab. its been there for years.
the pond out front of the house
the river out back. there was alot of rain when we got there and it was really high and misty.
and of course more mushrooms because thats my thing now.
