What a crappy weekend. After working 12 hour shifts Saturday and Sunday, I'm looking forward to going to night shift for the rest of the week. It will still be 12 hour shifts, but at least I won't have to worry about getting pestered by a bunch of officers that have nothing else better to do.
But my weekend wasn't all bad. This airman that I've been trying to get to know is finally opening up. See, I'm a seargent and she's an airman so I outrank her, but that really doesn't matter because we're not in the same chain of command. Anyway, for the past couple months she had been emailing one of my married friends I work with talking about all her relationship problems. After a while he started getting concerned because it seemed like she wanted to hook up with him. All this time I'm trying to get him to turn her in my direction, but to no avail. Anytime she'd come to our office she'd basically ignore me. So the other day she stops by, like always I'd be nice and try talking to her but this time we ended up having a nice conversation. She asked what I did for fun and I told her I've been going to the bars on the weekends listening to college bands and blah, blah, blah. The next day she emails my friend and asks him if he'd think I'd mind if she sends me an email. I guess I should have mentioned that this is all over our military email at work. So she emails me saying she'd like to come with some time. She does have a boyfriend, I guess they're on/off, but whatever. Lord knows I could use some single friends so hopefully this doesn't fizzle out. I know this all probably sounds totaly junior high, but that's where I'm at right now. I'll admit when it comes to relationships I'm somewhat inexperienced. That's why I wish I could get out of this tiny redneck town. There's not much opportunity to meet people around here, especially non-military.
