So, I don't get out often at all. My plans for the weekend were to go to the gym and play Dead Island to my heart's content. My buddy texted me, though. Asked if I still wanted to go to the "haunted house" in Austin tonight. Totally forgot all about it. Since SG has so many people from all over, I'll explain. I know Halloween isn't what it is here in most other places. Personally Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I love horror stuff, plus dressing up and going to Halloween parties is super fun. Well, around this time it's common for places to host "haunted houses," which are really nothing more than places you walk through with tons of gory and scary props, and people in scary costumes that do their best to scare the people going through. Some places fuck it up, and it's hardly even entertaining. Some places, however, get it right, like "House Of Torment" in Austin, TX. It's one of the best ranked in the country, number 9 this year according to HauntWorld. Here's the YouTube trailer for the attraction.
I'll admit that the trailer hypes the place up to more than it actually is. I mean, it is a video production meant to promote the attraction for fuck's sake. But it was actually really fun, and still pretty damn good. I had a blast, and I was even hurting from excessive laughter watching other people get scared. Plus my buddy and I had fun in the final portion that had strobe lights. I did get to take a couple of pictures with some of the "monsters" when it was all over.
Here I am with a guy who said "I LIKE LITTLE BOYS," then shortly thereafter remarked "I HAVE 13 STDs." I couldn't stop laughing. It also didn't help that his breath reeked of whiskey. Totally awesome.
Then I hooked up with my first dead chick. She's a nurse at a hospital in a small quiet town on a hill. [ We were standing on a slope, and we almost fell shortly after this was taken. ]
Next weekend is the weekend before Halloween, which sadly falls on a Thursday night. Hopefully I can get into more Halloween shenanigans during the weekend to make up for what I'm gonna miss later in the week. Until then... happy haunting!
