If you don't know what's happening in North Dakota you NEED TO! The North Dakota access pipeline will stretch through at least 5 states from ND to Illinois. If this pipeline leaks at all (AND IT WILL) it will effect 18 million people's drinking water including me, my family, and yours. Because if it's not this line it'll be the next.
Beside this there are militarized police attacking our water protectors and the first Americans on their own treaty lands with mace, concussion grenades, rubber bullets, and freezing water in 20 degree weather for peacefully praying unarmed. This situation has escalated where many have been seriously injured. It is all we can do while sitting at home to help these incredible people fighting for US. WE HAVE TO STAND WITH THEM!
I was lucky to have the chance to take a stand with them and stay a week at the camps to help out. I have to tell you these are the most incredible people I have been so lucky to spend time with. Literally people from all over the world and the country are coming together to a beautiful place called Standing Rock to make the stand together. All I could see and experienced everywhere I turned was love- SO MUCH LOVE!!! from what I could see-the rest of the world should follow example. This was an experience I literally just cannot find the perfect words to tell you about haha I will make another blog just for that :)
For my birthday I ask that you take a little time to make an effort to help stop the North Dakota access pipeline! There are a few things you can do easily from home such as making a few phone calls to the numbers in the photo attached. There are banks that are invested in the pipeline and you can make a difference by moving your funds from those banks to a credit union (I personally recommend anyway!) and call the head of the bank to tell him why and why it is essential that they pull their funding from the pipeline! Another thing you can do is donate to help support the water protectors peacefully fighting to protect yours and my future and water supply - links to do so are also attached
