So, I've been away for a while, but it's good to be back. I must admit, when they changed the site, I lost a bit of interest. I guess it's because it looks so much different, and lots of things have been removed / changed. But, I'm determined to get back into the swing of things.
A lot has happened recently. Some good, some bad. Let's start with the good, though. I'll be starting a new job early next year, which is going to mean more money. More money is always a good thing, right? Then, there is the holiday break to look forward to. I need a break. Some friends will be visiting from Australia, which I'm really excited about. I haven't seen them in over a year, so I suspect non-stop debauchery for the next couple of weeks. ;)
I also decided to shave my beard. Summer + food + beard = hot mess. As you can see, it was getting out of hand. :)
I'm looking a lot more presentable these days, all be it a bit more unhinged. (No, that's not a lazy eye.)
On a sadder note, South Africa, and the world as a whole, has become a poorer place for more than one reason recently. As South Africans, we lost two of our greatest. "Baby Jake" Matlala, the "little man with the biggest heart", and the "father of our nation", Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela. Both were great men, both were great champions. Enkosi, Jake. Enkosi, Tata. Usale kakuhle. Rest well.

“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” - Nelson Mandela
