Usually When I go to practice with my metal band, It will go very smoothly and we'll even jam out some new ideas for songs. Tonight was just one of those nights where everything did not come together and was insanely stressful.
Sometimes I think that the guitarist and the bass player need To get their head checked because they keep forgetting great ideas great ideas that they played 15 to 20 seconds prior to saying I can't remember. Granted I have a little bit more experience it's as far as music theory and education is concerned but but I'm not a Guitar player by any means. They just need to get their head in the fucking game.
Regarding my singer he'll have great melodies and then immediately chunks them out the fucking window. And I'm constantly having to ask him what are you doing that's not what you just did.
I cant begin to count how many "jam sessions" that I've recorded with my phone That have plenty of really good ideas but they never take the time to listen to them again after we recorded them, Even though I've asked them so many times.
The biggest thing that really set me off was that we had 2 weeks to learn Rope by Foo Fighters. I spent the better half of an hour learning the Break down section with all the fancy fills that Taylor Hawkins does. And about another half hour just focusing on the groove of the song. I get to fucking practice and I'm literally teaching them how to fucking play the damn song.
2 fucking weeks for one fucking song.
Guitarist doesn't know how to play it, basis obviously didn't listen to it, singers complaining about the timing. All they have to do is listen to the fucking song and play along with it that's it.
Maybe it's just me but damn Is it so hard to ask for people to come prepared?
I'm home now, here's a cute picture of my pug.
