So. I start off summer graduating from one college with an applied music degree...
That's essentially like saying "You know some theory, you know some piano, you know some music literature, and you finished your general education courses. Here's a fucking paper!"
Fuck that. I want more!
Skip ahead to the second week of April, not paying attention on the road while i'm on my way to the gym, hit the back of a truck, total my car. I had no clue airbags were so fucking expensive to replace. That is why my car was considered by the insurance company as TOTALED!
YES A BINDER ON MY DASHBOARD EJECTED INTO THE WINDOW AND SMASHED IT... A FUCKING BINDER!
I'm ok. Airbag didnt even touch me. Wore my belt, just minor scratches....
This leads me to go into a Major Depression. No car. No way of getting around except occasionally borrowing one of my family members cars to go play at church or get groceries, etc.
Skip ahead to this month, July. Stressing about learning a jazz solo. -- This mother fucker right here.

That's for one major university for Jazz Studies. One of the requirements is to learn a 24 bar transcription. Meaning, a transcription is a recording... so let's clarify.. learn an improvised solo that was captured on tape or video.... Right! Never done it before. SO if you know anything about jazz. SOLOS ARE NEVER EXACTLY THE SAME, EVER!
Second University, application for Jazz Studies is a bit easier, except more material to play, less about "learning a solo!"
I passed that mother fucker with flying colors AND getting enrolled to study BOTH Jazz Studies and Music Education, downside, it will take 4 years rather than 2. So whatever 2 fucking degrees and then I'm really out, cuz then I'll have 3 degrees total!
And I still need to find a new car...
I'm alive, I passed an audition, I got this... fuck it!
BRING IT ON LIFE!
PS -- Sorry for all the cursing and anger... I'm happy, pissed, excited, and distraught any pretty much random moments!
What doesn't kill us, does however shatter us into pieces which sometimes don't always fit perfectly once again, but at least we're kinda made whole into not what were once were, but with a bit more character.
