WHAT HAPPENED TO THE THREE MARTINI LUNCH?
(was there really a time of the three martini lunch?)
Forget sitting in a cubicle while chained to your desk and eating takeout that's been rendered cold waiting for someone else to hear the specials. What's happened? Let's get up, stretch the legs and go out to lunch! God, how I used to try. People just expect you to be around and to make it your life. I got to work today. I also got to go out and eat by myself today. It's really a treat. I love sharing coversation over a meal, but never understood feeling lonely over a meal alone. Tomorrow I will be fortunate enough to be working again and plan on leaving the office for a tooshort meal with a friend. We'll look at girls and talk about leaving them, but we won't be pretending to worry about work.
This is not where I intended to be. What is the difference between lonely and lonesome? the dictionary falls short.
I have so much here in my head and am crowded by mild exhaustion. That is so inexcusable. It's just the martini's talking, dumby.
A few from the playlist for tomorrow (in no order I'm shuffling):
Cold Blooded Old Times - Smog
Nothing To Lose - The Brian Jonestown Massacre
Singular Girl - Old 97's
I Want You To Want Me - (cover by)Dwight Yoakam
Fireworks - Court and Spark
Junk Barge - Sally Timms
Where Is My Mind - The Pixies
Me and You - Cub Country
Lady Midnight - Leonard Cohen
Tous Les Garcons... - Francoise Hardy
Hop Joint - Mississippi John Hurt
Far Away Eyes - The Rolling Stones
Forget the songs, there were too many to write and it's too hard to pick and choose. Songs are harder than movies. Share with me a song. That is, give me a good song, I need something new.

There may not appear to be much misery in this picture, but I took it at a time when I was feeling ever-so lonely, and the idyllic sundrenched picnic seemed like something I would never attain. Ha!
I LOVED Eternal Sunshine. In fact, just after the trailer for A Life Aquatic they showed a trailer for that, and I got SO excited, 'cos I thought Charlie Kaufman had gone and written/made that sequel he mentioned once in an interview, where you get to see the whole episode from Her perspective. But alas, it was just having another run at the cinema I was in. I might go see it again.
I love the fact that we're never online at the same time, so we can leave semiphor and code, one for the other to decifer when we awake.
And yes I Hate Men! (But I don't! Just the one. I've gotten past grief and anger to humour already. But bloody hell - the sex was so fucking great! That jerk.)
