You know what....making records is totally exciting exhausting fun exhausting frustrating and inspiring. 12 to 14 hours a day every day, in a house without a whole lot of connection to the outside world trying to unify six visions into one satisfying whole. And all the while, I'm looking for a sound....some interesting sonic vacation to take...

What a joy and a trip...

I'm finally hooked up again !!! The house we're working in doesn't have a high speed set-up. I finally installed AOL and hooked up to the phone line. My human took the trip with me so I've been using her computer, but she's not so fond of the time I spend on SG especially while we're on a road trip together and especially on her...

Well, we haven't heard from you so that's either really good or really bad wink

Are you sick of snow yet? Are you loving it? We've had slush so far here, and lots of cold rain.

So, um, (nerd time) what mixer you working on? Got the Studer action rolling? biggrin
mikael:
Those Midases are big, heavy bitches! Good luck on this project. Sounds kind of interesting.

I'm heading for Portland in 6 days for abou a week, then I'm planning on moving there come March. I'd love to live in LA, but there's no way I could afford the rent. I'm really hoping to start driving as little as possible, and I've been in LA traffic. Of course, I'm not sure if that falls more in the "stting in your vehicle" category more than "driving". biggrin

So are you going to be in CO over the Holidays? If you could, send Les your mailing addy, for she and I would like to send you some Holiday "Cheer". biggrin

I saw two articles today in Salon about teaching creationism in public schools and making sure students "know" that evolution is only a "theory." puke

I have a bad attitude towards Christianity right now.

I saw The Incredibles last night. What a cool movie.

Two weeks til I leave for Boulder shocked ARRR!!!

What is this place we live in. Who are the people that don't get how awful 4 more years of Shrub is. I wish there was somewhere I could live that reflected my values, but ultimately there's nowhere to go but home. I know the race isn't quite over yet, but how was there ever a race...

I'm glad Bush was re-elected. He says he'll do something, and he does it. You can't say that about Kerry.

Besides, he's to finish what he started. He wouldn't have started it in the first place if it wasn't for their assassination attempt against his father and possible inside sources revealing an assassination attempt on him. They were shown up when they couldn't kill dad.

And for more on Kerry: My uncle is a small aircraft pilot in the British Virgin Islands. He told me not to vote for Kerry because Kerry is an asshole, bosses him around, and makes illegal deals with other people. He wouldn't have any reason to lie, I figure, since he can't vote anyways.

I am SOO slammed right now. I'm leaving my job in a three weeks and my replacement may not actually have what it takes to do the job. EEEK!! While this is going on we are also dealing with insane record company politics and I'm working 16 hour days all when I had hoped to be winding down my job. It's always so dramatic. blackeyed skull

Our God, You are our winged selves...
It is Your will in us that wills
It is Your desire in us that desires
It is Your urge in us that would turn our nights which are Yours, into days which are Yours also.
We cannot ask for anything because You know our needs before they are ever born within us.

what a weekend...
this saturday one of my very best friends got married. i was in charge of the music and sound so it was quite a bit of work up through the ceremony. it all went off well and i didn't make too many mistakes on the guitar. i had a bit of post project depression last night, but i'm also thrilled to move...

I saw someone at the diner yesterday who looked just like you. He smiled alot, so I thought it was you, but I know you would've said hi. And I know you're in LA anyway. I guess he was just a happy person.

Anyway, good morning. kiss miao!!

Looking forward to a lovely weekend with a trip out to Joshua Tree and then Pioneertown for the Gram Rabbit cd release party. It should be a good time for all. Sunday I'll try to catch some of Sunset Junction over in Silverlake. The fun never ends. Every awake moment of my life is pretty much booked for another two weeks. Some of it is...

I am truly frustrated with myself right now. What kind of guitar player could I be if I had practiced with any regularity for the last 5 years. I can barely play songs that I wrote. WTF mad mad
I am playing for my friend's wedding and as I practice these songs I see just how far I am from when I was playing out regularly. I...

i wonder the same thing about so many things.. piano, writing, yoga, etc. the only thing i've ever found is that it's NOT TOO LATE to start again. the past's the past, and you can't do anything about it, so you can just use the disappointment to power your ascendence to guitar greatness!

i know that doesn't help much with the visceral part of the disappointment, though. there's no solution to that, that i know of..
