I saw Elliott Smith play live once in New Orleans. I was working on a record that a friend of his was playing on so we took the night off to go see him play. The show was truly excellent. After the show we all ended up back at The Matador having a drink and I had a really intense and beautiful conversation with Elliott about inspiration. We talked about how important it is to try to maintain your inspiration and the joys in your life so that you wouldn't need to resort to drastic measures to get back to an inspired place. It was a moving and personal conversation when all I expected was to say hi to him. How sad and ironic to me that he found himself at a place in his life where he had to resort to such drastic measures.
Rest In Peace Elliott. Thanks for touching my life in that moment. I hope that Spirit wraps you up in arms of healing and forgiveness and love until all the sadness is forgotten.

Death is a sad period for most beings but you gotta think about the person who died. They are probably much happier where they are in any circumstance.
Ok... Spirtual Class 101 has now officially ended.
Hope to see you around again.
