I've been so busy that I haven't really had a chance to update. Friday I was absolutely exhausted. I guess getting no sleep at all Wednesday night had finally caught up with me. And I didn't really stay up that late Thursday night either.
Friday I went to The Model Cafe in Allston Rock City. I'm beginning to hate that place. There is only some many times you can go to a dive bar when the novelty begins to wear thin. Sarah(2) asked me what I was doing and when she found out I was going to the Model, she was like "no thanks". So I went to the Model with Sid, Antihero_wraith, and Sid's roommate Ryan. We saw the totally awesome Section8 (my first time meeting him) with some of his friends and hung out in one of the booths.
The booth was filled so Antihero_wraith and I sat in the next booth and turned around, kneeling on the seat so we could talk to the others. Two girls sat down on the other seat across from us. I turned and asked them if we had taken their seats. They said we didn't and they had just decided to sit down. Anyways, we continued to chat and drink and a few minutes later the waitress came up to us and told us we had to move because these two guys were sitting there before us. (The guys were apparently friends of the two girls). What. The. Fuck. First, there was no drinks, no coats, nothing in the booth when we sat down. And when the girls came and sat down AFTER US, we ASKED them if there was anyone sitting there and they said no. And it's a friggin' bar and not one that serves food. You can't "save" a seat in a bar. If you get up and leave, and someone else sits in your seat, too bad. We had been tipping this waitress very generously all night too ($5 for $3 beers) and now she gives us this shit? She offered us some stools to sit on but there was already people crowded around the booth Sid and the others were sitting at - that wasn't going to help us at all. So I said, fuck this, and I said my goodbyes and left. Hopefully that will be my last time at the Model.
I called Sarah(2) up to see what she was doing. She was home making fajitas and invited me over to have some. I told her I had a case of beer in my trunk, so it was a good match. I drove over to her place, but she had decided the fajitas were too disgusting to eat, so she threw them away and we made pizza instead. We drank, ate and watched some movies on TV (Wild Things and some of Boogie Nights). I was too drunk to drive home, so I figured I'd just crash there again (and potentially violating my rule about not sleeping with girls I"m not intimate with). At sometime really late at night she put on some crappy cooking show with some young, handsome English guy who had lots of pretty, bubbly girls eat his food. He pissed me off so I got up and crawled into Sarah's bed and fell asleep. She was apparently asleep on the floor in the living. I found that out when she climbed into bed an hour later and bitched at me for letting her fall asleep on the floor. Yes, nothing happened of course. Especially since I was asleep when she even crawled into bed.
When I woke up she was asleep there lying next to me. With the light streaming in from the window, she looked like an angel. I snapped a pic of her with my camera. Somewhere, not far away, a friend of mine was doing the same thing. Sarah was supposed to head off to Maine that day, and she was already late (as always, I knew there was no way she was gonna leave my 9am, and it was now 11:30am). I helped her get ready (ok, I just watch) and I noticed a note someone had left her in the kitchen. I didn't mean to read it but I saw that the first few words were "Thank you for letting me sleep in your bed..." I was thinking "what? how many guys does she have over and sleep in her bed?" So of course I *had* to scan the letter and figure out who it was from. It turns out it was from her sister (duh, of course), and I noticed at the very end it said, "PS. Your friend Mike is very sweet". Wow... She was talking about me of course. I was flattered. And then I thought about it and I realized that I am pretty awesome actually.
So I don't make this entry too long, I'll stop for now. I want to know what people think though. Why is it that women have it so much easier just being friends with a guy? And is what is going on normal... everytime I've had a friendship with a girl where I ended up sleeping in her bed multiple times, eventually something has happened between us. But the more times I sleep with someone without anyhing happening, the stronger I solidify my position on the friendship ladder. It's now been the second time I slept at her place this week. Anyways, I'm not going to think about it too much for now, I have a busy day ahead of me.
