So, I went to see The Pixies last night. It was awesome! But not because it was an awesome show. It was a great show, but to see a band like The Pixies, it kind of
wouldn't really matter if they sucked. Would I write here that they sucked, if they did? Well, no, I wouldn't. They are one of those bands that inspired so many but never really had much success themselves. I could go on and on. I've been listening to their music at work all day.
I went with a friend from work and he brought along a friend from England. As I'm sure you know, The Pixies are HUGE in England. He has this list of 100 things he has to do in his life, and one of them was "see the Pixies play 'Where is My Mind'" Of course he was really upset when they broke up in '93 and they haven't toured since '91. He finally saw them play in London early this year and they didn't play "Where Is My Mind" So he flew from London to Boston to see them. Luckily, they played it last night.
...
Not much else going on right now. Talking to Melissa online. She has been going on and on about something. How she is lonely, or everyone is getting married or how she is unattractive or how she is getting old (hello, she is 24!!). Long conversations that make me feel like a therapist. Very ironic sometimes. Because I can relate to much of what she says only a 100 times more, and yet she is looking to me for advice (or maybe just to whine?) Hehe, I guess I have a decent friendship with her, but remember, I never dated her. It's much easier to be friends with a girl you haven't dated. Harder to be friends between ex'es.
I think it was silly of me to presume that anything would ever happen between us. If it was going to, it would have long ago, and frankly there never has been any signals from her. The healthiest thing for me would to not spend so much time on her. But I'm a sucker for that and frankly my life is a bit boring now.
