I like my coffee black just like my metal.
So I went to see MSI last night with my friend Josh. Sid is probably really angry at me because I didn't take her. I didn't make up my mind about going in time so she made other plans. And then when I changed my mind and decided to go, it was too late and she couldn't cancel the plans she had with other people.
The show was *awesome* though. I actually missed "Shut Me Up" because they played that first and we missed the first song
. It is my favorite MSI song too (ok, I only know four MSI songs, haha). I think I was the oldest person in the audience by about 10 years. Most of them seemed to be high school age, some even junior high age! Jimmy Urine was well aware of this fact and seemed to have a great time teasing the audience and in general insulting people. He's an ugly little man and probably got beaten up a lot in junior high school. He's obviously very talented though and seems to be fairly intelligent. At one point he had a boy with long hair come up on stage and offered to shave his head in exchange for free merchandise. (I volunteered but was not selected.) Instead of shaving all his hair off, they just shaved the top of his head leaving the sides long. It looked ridiculuous and the only thing I could think was "His mom is gonna kill him". At another point in the show he brought up an overweight girl, sat her on speaker, sang to her and made fun of her weight. She seemed to love it, though. :-/
It was incredibly hot in there and we spend most of the show pushing ourselves to the front through the mass of sweaty bodies. I've finally found where all the stinky 19-year-old girls must come from. Another weird thing I noticed was that everyone was shorter than me. Someone made a comment that is was because all of the drugs they are giving kids these days. :-/ Anyways, no matter where I was, I could always *see* the stage and I'm only 5' 8". By the time we made it through the front, crossing through many a pit, and covered by the sweat of a thousand teenagers, the show ended. Oh well. I don't think I've been in a crowd like that since high school and I remember being much more intimidated when I went to shows like that back then. Last night there was hardly a person of large enough size who could possibly hurt me, even if they were picked up and thrown on top of me. God bless Josh, he was such a trooper, and followed me all the way through the crowd no matter where I went. One nice thing about being so packed together - you don't really have to expend any energy to dance, you just let the movement of the crowd bounce you up and down.
After the show, we ran into so many people we knew. I, not surprisingly, found [19-year-old] Justine in the pit, where she had been for the whole show, along with Bizerk, Lisa, and 9 of their friends. Josh ran into his friend Jess, and I also saw TheRedBaron and Greta. I also saw xxxjaymz there. (Maybe Sid is happy she didn't go.)
The bass player for MSI (named Lyn-Z apparently) hung out on the floor after the show. Both Josh and I thought she was incredibly hott so we went up to talk to her. Uh, we didn't really say much but she did sign my kidney. (It's becoming kind of a tradition with me to get them signed now). I was surprised on how friendly she was, hugging all the sweating kids who came up to get autographs or pictures taken with her. Ew, I don't know if I would do that.
Lisa invited Josh and I to come skinny-dipping in Jamaica Plain Pond with them after. It sounded like fun, so we headed back to Boston and agreed to meet them there. They stopped for food on the way so we hung out at 7/11 in Mission Hill for a little bit and wandered around the neighborhood. We met up with everyone at Bizerk's place and hung out there for a little bit. By the time we decided to go, it was raining outside. Josh and I said "screw this", and decided to just go home although apparently some of the rest of them were still going to go swimming. It was probably for the best - Josh's gf would probably not be happy to hear that he had gone skinny dipping with a bunch of girls.
This weekend I have no idea what I'm doing. Josh and I are planning a slumber party tonight but we haven't invited anyone yet. If you are interested in coming, let me know! It will basically be watching movies or something and sleeping on the floor. Bring pillows and sleeping bags if you have them.
