I hate the South Beach diet. It hasn't even been 48 hours and I'd kill a man for a can of coke. I'm impressed with coke zero actually. I can't stand diet coke but coke zero tastes a lot like regular coke. It hasn't stopped the sugar cravings though. These first two weeks are going to be tough. My diet currently consists of the following:
plain lowfat yogurt
V8 vegetable juice (with lemon)
coke zero
lowfat cheddar cheese
95% fat free ground beef
lowfat string cheese
raw string beans
lentil soup
peanuts
cashews
almonds and macadamias
canadian bacon
canned tuna with mayo
miso soup with tofu and wakame
raw fish (sashimi) when I can afford it and my cats don't steal it from me
milk
eggs (I hate eggs)
I don't think anyone is suppose to live this way. I'm not even that much overweight, right? Luckily, that's only the first two weeks. After that I can eat the south beach pizzas, which, with my luck, will probably taste like shit. Twelve more days to go.
...
Thank you for all who were concerned about my friend. She is better now, but still in a special hospital. She's getting therapy and luckily will probably be able to go home next week. She'll have to go back every day for more therapy, but at least she'll be able to sleep at home. It was stressful, but it's a big relief to know that she's ok.

Not that people look and go "oh, that girl's 18 and he's 29". As Chuck Berry sang, "they just shrugged and said/you never can tell".
