I love New York. Its one of the most remarkable cities in the world. The high water mark of western art & culture. When I visit NYC, its like Ive slipped into a big pair of warm, fuzzy slippers cozy, comforting I feel at home. The pulse is electrifying. Life fills every nook and cranny, overhead and underfoot. The whir of machinery, the clatter of the trains, that sweet urban rhythm like a heart beat. And the people - some of the best and brightest from around the world - there to achieve their greatest dreams. I truly love New York.
It hurts to see the skyline without the Trade Center. I never cared for its design, but the sheer scale was a fitting symbol of early 1970s optimism. The island has lost its mooring post, though it hasnt gone adrift.
What hurts even more is to see the cynical robber barons of the RNC use that beautiful city as a backdrop for their deceptive marketing effort to steal evermore from us, and from the entire world. They are not welcome. They do not care. Theyve come to conquer and divide.
My heart is with those whove taken to the streets to express our collective rage, and our aspirations for a brighter future. I look forward to a day when I can be proud of all my country stands for. A day when I can trust our leaders to do whats right, rather than shiver in fear at all theyve destroyed. A day without those contemptuous rat bastards at the helm. Bring it on
