Well it has certainly been a very eventful last few days!
I'll start with Sunday night, with dinner at my Parents place.
Things started off normally enough but after my little sister had wandered off with one of her friends my Parents started asking about why my last relationship ended.
I tried a number of diverts but they weren't having any of it.
In the end I realised that the easiest way to deal with everything was simply to come out and tell them everything. So I did.
They took it very well and even managed to be supportive!
I learned a few details I would have preferred not to about their sex lives (is anyone EVER comfortable hearing about their parents?) but they didn't condemn me for enjoying BDSM as I had expected.
Monday I picked up my new suit, shirts and shoes. The shoes are Portugese hand made and the suit is a european cut brown and white pinstriped black single breast.
The jacket will be great as it can be dressed down for more casual wear and I just fell in love with the whole package.
I wore it out for the first time Monday night, where I met the former, and new, members for the Tamaki electorate. Clem and Alan were both more down to earth than I expected, though I should have expected as much given my own goals.
The meeting was at the Churchill Club near my old high school and it was a thrill to meet all the other members of the party from my area.
I am looking forward to the Christmas party on the 1st!
Last night I was out at Iguacu in Parnell with a group of people and met two lovely girls who I am hoping to see more of in the near future. S is a Canadian who is still deciding if she wants to get home or stay in New Zealand more... I hope to convince her the latter is the better course!
Z is from Poland and has the most beautiful accent. She is lively and enthusastic but also very down to earth. She also loves the personal stories of history and understood the challenge of the modern historian... we had a great conversation!
Now I have two days at work to get through before I go on holiday. There is the tournament in Hamilton this weekend and then I hope to get away to Pawanui for a week or so.
Though if I get the right offer I may just stay here... or maybe even take someone away with me
Here's hoping!
