According to the IRS, I underpaid my federal income tax by about $500 last year. Apparently, when you're a tax fraud like me, you get a special monthly payment program to mend your ways. Every time I send off my next check, I think about thumbing my nose at the Military-Industrial Complex for being able to hold out on them for so long.

Well I know that the relaxed thing has some basis.. but if you heard the unbelievably flaky shit this man was spouting all night.. eep. Bizarro.

About the member you asked about.. well I asked her (as I've met the actual musician you were referring to when she played here) if she was her.. as I deduced awhile back that all the birds seemed to line up. She said no and she didn't know what I was talking about. I still have my suspicions, but due to reasons of privacy, respect, etc have chose not to mention the matter.

If you could edit the name part out of your post I'd appreciate it.

Sure I'll send it to you when I have a few moments.. remind me though, ok. Alternatively you can buy the Rebar Cookbook in which you can find the above recipes and many others of much deliciousness.

The little lady and I were comparing notes on where Saddam was likely to actually be found. He clearly wasn't in any hole near Tikrit, as the cerulean blue background aired all morning on NBC showed. I say the French Riviera (the self-tanner orange tan is a dead giveaway), but she thinks the sky is more island paradise blue, not Nice or Cannes blue.

Yes, the suckage level for this holiday season has been raised to orange.

I now feel kinda guilty, since my holiday season has been quite good in a low-key way. *sigh*

Heavy? Great personality? You think I'm fat!--it's fat! I mean, you don't love me!

My experience of here is far less pleasant than it used to be. That's something I'm contemplating.

Yes...excitement here waning.

The Unplugged WAS good. Th Roots kick ass.

Yeah, when faced with rakes, bikes and fermenting vats of wine, I just had to present the world with photographic evidence.

Oh, and my experience here has rode a few waves of pleasant and unpleasant, hence I left, now I'm back. There does seem to be a lot of flux in members and even SG's, so that disrupts the feeling of community and whatnot.

So maybe I'll leave again in a month, maybe not. There's always the boobies to consider, too. biggrin

I bought a couple of cookbooks recently, trying to find some sort of approach to take towards my kitchen. I'm a bad veggie- I eat too much cheese, I'm not conversant with the better protein supplements, I have no idea if I get enough B12.

I also bought a bunch of records recently- Dylan, Ogurusu Norihide, Charalambides, Slumber Party, Explosions in the Sky. With the...

yeah, from what i've read on websites about absinthe, because of the high alcohol content, you'll get drunk on your ass before you get even close to ingesting enough thujone (the kick in wormwood) to have an effect on you. supposedly this is the best resource on the net out there: http://www.feeverte.net/

i would recommend throwing some nutritional yeast flakes into your food often for b12.
i wish someone would make me some risotto! i haven't had that in awhile...

Nothing wrong with being flip. Above all, humor is most important.

SG's a beautiful thing. I've seen everything from people who can't spell or use proper grammar, to people discussing chaos theory...college radio elitists to Metallica diehards. As niche of a site as SG is, many permutations of the SG thing exist here. I've found a mini community on SG that I quite enjoy.

That and lots of boobs. lol

EXTENDED LENGTHY ESSAY. TOPIC: BOB DYLAN.

obsessing over dylan is a favorite pastime.

i don't know if i have a favorite era. i know i grew up listening to the very very early albums: bob dylan self titled (a fave), john wesley harding, highway 51. only recently have i come to appreciate some of the later works - i'm really thankful to have been exposed to "desire" last summer, because the track "isis" is one of my favorite dylan songs ever, and the song "sara" to his wife makes me cry. also i just recently got into the basement tapes. i have to say that i tend to be more into the real dramatic shit: masters of war, god on our side, ballad of hollis brown, etc. i love the ones where he talks: song to woody, bob dylan's 115th dream, etc. the basement tapes is good but when things get too upbeat or have too many instruments i'm not as interested. i have steered clear of the christian years, but i have heard that there are some great songs to be found therein. he does do some of the more recent stuff live, and i don't know where some of it comes from. "summer days" seems to be a popular track for him to do live and i really just have no idea what album that's off of. i did pick up "time out of mind" which is very recent (1998?) and it's excellent, especially the very first track "lovesick," which is very bluesy and depressing, kinda reminds me of tom waits.

seeing dylan live was really cool, i just kinda wanted to be near him. i felt blessed because he did "she belongs to me" which has always been one of my favorite songs since i was a little girl. it's hard to wanna see dylan live because i'm so in love with such a specific group of tracks and a lot of them i know i'll never hear him do: isis, visions of johanna, tracks like that don't seem to make it to the live shows.

have you ever heard the poem he wrote to woody: "last thoughts on woody guthrie"? it's fucking amazing. i listen to it when things in my life are totally fucked and it completely sorts me out. i can give you an mp3 of it if you want.

if you're being super obsessive you should check out the biography that came out recently. it's called "down the highway." the author intereviewd something like 200 people who'd been associated with dylan and compiled them into the most thorough biography i've seen yet. it reads a little like a gossip column in places, tho. i'd like more rumination on the source of dylan's genius.

i have a lot of personal thoughts about dylan. as an astrologer i'm obliged to have spent some time with his chart. he definitely rocks the major neptune action in his chart, which would explain why he seemed to believe, especially during the xtian years, that his songs came from a higher power.

another thought i have about him a lot, especially after reading the biography, is that part of his iconic nature is definitely due to his own drive. he was always interested in being famous and he really did work hard to become well known. he has never been purely artistically driven, it was always on some level about fame. he started out wanting to be buddy holly. it's good to note that when you think about him and his affect on our culture.

anyway.

ummm.

*blush*

i think too much

ok bye

OH YEAH lists. if you go to post on the boards you will see that the boards have their own little macro language for things llike putting in images and urls and they also have some tags for making stuff bold and making lists. smile
