That's it ! it's official!! The last of my "single" girl-friends (true friendship, not the sex/love/infatuation kind) has gotten hitched. Tied the knot. Took the plunge. Walked down the plank, er, I mean aisle! Congratulations to her and the lucky bastard who now calls himself the husband. I truly wish him all the luck in the world. Both of them.
What sounds like a melancholy of a passing (the singles connection) is a really a swan song of sorts. Have I now entered a realm or world where couples is what it is all about? I am afraid. What if one of my "single" male friends (notice I do not give equality of position in referring to him as my "boy-friend" ) shows up to a party, who do I hook him up with? Egads! my social host days are now numbered...
Deep mdown inside I truly will miss the bonding time. Bonding with a woman is always more profound than with a man (although the sport of bonding- male-wise carries more sports, drinking and story telling with it)
Regardless, I will readily hold a woman's hair back while she pukes more readily than a man's hair (that's gotta be some special guy!!! )
In closing, I guess from here on out I will try to live precariously thru those younger than I and in much better shape (as in recovering quickly, very little hangovers) than I. The passing of the torch has commenced, so again, good luck!
