I almost got my labret pierced today. The main thing that stopped me though was that Thanksgiving is coming up and I'll be visiting my family whom of which doesn't look so well upon piercings. Everytime I get one they say "Why do you do that? Don't get anymore..."
My mom is an all-natural girl. Yoga instructor, meditation, vegetarian; the works. So according to her, putting holes and tattoos into my body is damaging it's holy templeness. Or something like that...
I am all for natural living, but on the other hand when it comes down to it my body is just going to decay and rot after I die and my spirit is what will be important and nothing I do to my body is going to damage that.
So, I'm just going to wait till after the holiday so I don't have to deal with the grief I'd most likely get from them. They do get used to them and eventually come to like them, but the initial reaction is the opposite.

It's what's inside that matters...we all know that. But it's easier to love what's inside when you like what's on the outside as well. That's a basic rule of self-esteem...and plastic surgery. And I like piercing's and ink much better than botox and fake tits.
