I am SofaKing
I am SofaKing happy to be back.
I've been on a little bit of a break from SG and from the internet in general; we've had a lot going on. A broken kitchen sink drain line is leaking behind and seeping out of the EXTERIOR wall. NOT GOOD. Anybody know a cheap plumber?
Also I'm halfway through the book that ends the series I have been following somewhat obsessively for, ohh, 15 years or so (The Dark Tower).
Plus we had a very entertaining houseguest for a week or so. He just moved to San Diego and is trying to get set up (if you read this and need help or wanna hang out just write or call, dude.).
I'll try to be a little more consistent for at least the next week or so. I'm sure the few of you who check are SofaKing sick of seeing the same old journal entry.
Plus I guess I wanted to stay away from the consensus reaction to that election. Trying not to get too upset. I know many in this community are (were?) also Kerry supporters, for various reasons. I'm trying to move on and let it go.
But then I see that Donna Frye, a write-in candidate for mayor of san diego, is WINNING?!?? WTF?? Now she's a liberal environmentalist, so it seems like I would support her. I DO NOT. This woman is SofaKing insane. I've seen her on KUSI news for ten years or so. I've followed her votes and opinions as a member of city council; I work for an agency directly affected by the political leadership of the city of san diego. She has never (IMO) done anything positive; she's real good at voting no on every issue before the council, but never offers any creative ideas. Ever. I don't think she's ready to be mayor. She doesn't have the ability to compromise and understand and take into account the diverse opinions of the entire city. If she holds on and it's determined it was legal for her to run in the first place, she's in for a bit of culture shock, I think. Plus it went against the city election charter for her to run in the first place, as a write-in after the primary earlier this year. There can be only two candidates after the primary. That's it.
And if she pushes the Chargers out of San Diego, there's going to be SofaKing much hell to pay.
