Hey all!
So here are some pics of my art partner (Charles Conkin) and I at the gallery opening last night! (In Chicago's westloop/greektown area, Gallery 2. Special thanks to ninjaprodigy for showin up! Sorry we didn't have time to talk too long! )= The exhibition lasts until April 14.
^^^ this peice is a process based peice, the content and meaning can be found in the way in which it was created, not the aesthetic. It is made out of found posters, newsprint. Each individual layer is glued together, one layer at a time. 7 gallons of PVA Glue, weight appoximately 200 pounds.
All the images beneath are peices in the studio: they were not shown in the Gallery exhibition
^^^the small, nearly unrecognizable images are lithography prints of early oregon logging created by my friend, the amazing fantastic printmaker andrew lorish! (this piece is created out of layers and layers of glued newsprint with litho prints and whitewash on top)
^^^ these gloves are a byproduct of the process of creating the paper stack above, they are broken down my days, and hang in my studio for now. There are hundreds of them. We will be creating a new peice, perhaps including a light box at some point soon!
