So my episode 2:
I just dropped almost $2000 on this;
and a few lenses. Hurah! I now, by next June, owe Best Buy a lot of money. Seriously though, I couldn't be happier, I have already taken a crap load of photos because...I photograph a weddding tommorow, my friends wedding. Hopefully all goes well. I'm so excited.
In other news, my sister finally told my dad that she is pregnant- and he was fine with it- more than fine with it- dare I say, I think he is happy The most surprising reaction was my step mom- she hit the roof- with joy! Then the big one came, my grandparents on my dad's side, offered to foot the bill for my sisters wedding as long as it stays simple and happens before the baby is born. Holy crap! My sister and her boyfriend- Brian wanted to get married, but knowing a baby is on it's way they didn't really have the money, so now they can get married. Wow things are moving quick.

I'm kinda wondering about the sharpness thing here, since a couple of my friends said they'd had sharpness issues with the 18-55. I think the problems were towards the infinite -end of the focus. Basically portraits, closeups etc. were very sharp, but sceneries tended to lack the finest detail.
I'm gonna have to look into this more closely sooner or later, because I think I used to have similar problems with my cheap sigma 18-55.
