"The ones who love us are never really lost"
Boy does this phrase ever have a double meaning.
My grandmother passed away on Friday night. She's gone to be with my grandpa, who passed away in March. They would have been married for 55 years- more than half their lives together, the only time they were seperated has been these ten months.
This time I got to be at my grandma's side, instead of just finding out she was gone. It's weird but there was some sort of comfort in holding her hand when she took her last breath and knowing she was gone- but she already had the love of her life waiting for her on the otherside.
Somehow I'm okay with this loss because I know she will be okay. I know that while she was here, she was suffering physically and emotionally and now it's over.
Funeral is on Thursday so...I'm not going to NewYork, which I'm okay with too.
