I made it.
The funeral is over. I stood up and said what I needed to say- and did so without crying to the point of being completely uncomprehensible.
My only regret is that my Mom was the one to deliver the official eulogy- and people kept telling me what a good job I did with what I said.
I think the hardest part of the day wasn't the burial. For me it was being a pallbearer, and carrying my grandfather out of the funeral to the sound of "Amazing Grace" being played on the bagpipes.
As the Minister- my cousin- said, my Grandfather was the closest you could get to being a Saint, and for all we knew, he was one.
I want to say thank you to anyone who left me kind words in comments, emails, or private messages, it was really appreciated.
