went to L.A. yeasterday morning. took the nephews to the yanks-angels game. hot as hell. i wanted to retreat to seats in the shade but the kids held ground in the sun and we all got cooked alive. walked around universal and paid $60 (rip off) to wait in lines to go on non impressive rides. but it wasn't 'about me' so much as i was just there to hang with the kids and hapy to be not working. mission accomplished.
now tmrw, that's the 'me' time. going to denver to a) see the Mets. b) see Tool (6th row) and c) look at houses up near greeley/fort collins/loveland and all that just in case things go in that direction (one of many possibilites along with san luis obispo, albuquerque and oklahoma city)

The LA Weekly festival sounds like it could be interesting. I'll have to pick up a paper and look at the details. I'll let you know.
