I have had a busy time of things, in a playing a lot of DDO sort of way. Called in sick to work today, and have one day of giving tests and one day of on-the-job laser tag before a five day weekend. Yes, yes, I know, it's pretty sweet. Talk to me on the weeks I'm not posting sometime.

Also, for the first time...

Well, blankets are better than quilts anyway (you can add or remove blankets depending on how warm you want to be but with a quilt its either all or nothing).

Fortnightly. Sounds about right. So, think I've gotten the hang of work, or at least returned to that fuzzy warm happy place that makes it all seem not horrible. (after the initial jolt of 6:00a wears off) Sort of odd, since some of my other colleagues seem to be there and worse now. But, who knows? Anyway, it's only monday, what the fuck do I...

Going to be calling in sick to work tomorrow. Kind of sucks, since I use sick days as fast as I get them (And I'm pretty sure the district screwed me out of one. But, I've made a vow to ONLY call in when I'm sick. Fever, hot and cold flashes, no appetite, and geysers of pablum mean no work tomorrow. Tomorrow I'll work on...

First six weeks is over. Things are not necessarily "better", but they are more stable, which passes for better in a pinch. 17% done with the school year, then fuck that place and on to a new school, but probably one that is no less SNAFU.

Dad's divorce just went from bad to amazingly fucked up.

Today was the first day back at work. Got moved to a new classroom. There is a short list of things I think should be in a classroom, but were not:

1. Teachers Desk
2. Student Desks
3. Textbooks.
4. Chalkboard/Whiteboard

The first.. uh... two got fixed. As for a chalkboard? Two months. That's right, eight weeks. That's right, half way through the second grading...

Try it you might like it! Muah ha ha!! wink biggrin

As regards the classroom, perhaps everyone could just sit around in a circle on bean bags and sing camp fire songs until the desks arrive!! smile

Threw up again this morning. Unfun. About to head to Nashville for a few days for some seminar bullshit. Also unfun. My last week of No School and I spend it doing this shit. Bah.

I guess I really ought to start planning or something.

Oxford went better than expected. Got about a dozen free books. Finally (finally!) finished Name of the Rose, it only took most of the summer. The advantage to reading a book so dense and complex is that when you read something a little more casual, say Samurai Shortstop, you can breeze through it between lunch and tea-time. Nice to just sit down and read a...

Finally back from my training seminar trip. Long, but it was nice to have people to talk about books with.

So, I feel moderately accomplished.

Last night, I resolved some outstanding issues in the dealing-with-the-other-sex department, which I feel pretty good about. Today, I read some preacher, brewed up some coffee, then attacked "Crossing the Uncanny Valley" for real. I've bashed my head against this one section time and time again, only to walk away. Finally managed to break through it today (I think staying...
