Ate a really sickening amount of sushi today with a group of friends. (all you can eat, made fresh to order!) All of us felt pretty bad, so instead of playing poker we just broke up and went to our homes. I ended up taking a two hours nap - explaining my current insomnia.
Been bored recently, but luckily a book just came in: _The Plot Against America_. Very good reviews, all well deserved. Came in today, so far read about 110 pages or so. I've been reading too much nonfiction recently, so it's good to remember how cool fiction is.
Speaking of fiction, NaNo is approaching and I'm still undecided. I'll occassionally have a flash of something that might be interesting enough to dedicate a novel to, but mostly I'm not sure if I have the energy (emotional, physical, or otherwise) to do it again. It's quite taxing. Also, I'm coming to realize that the rigors of graduate study did quite a number on my creative writing ability. Or, such is the excuse I allow myself. Need to get back to short fiction.
Going to Nashville this weekend, which I'm pretty jazzed about. My best friend just moved up there, so hopefully I'll be taking road trips more frequently now. (Knoxville is just too far.) I'm going up there with my current (serious) crush, which is probably not going to do anything terrific for my obnoxious emotional scatterbrainedness.
In more positive news, the recent drizzly weather ( <3 ) and cooler temps means I've switched to my fall wardrobe, which is WAY more exciting for me than it should be. We shall see how long that lasts.
