For me, being a kid was:
Wake up at 7am. Pester your parents to wake up.
Eating Rice Krispies (not Coco Pops) for breakfast. Calling on your friend at 10am and pissing off his dad who worked late. Going down the field and digging holes; making a den in the sand; looking for treasure till about 1 am. Having your friends eat lunch at your house because you are too busy working on your den for them to go home. It's chicken paste sanwiches and shops own brand lemonade. Going back in the field and completing the den or sandpit or treasure hunt till parents came looking fo you at about 7pm. Having spaghetti bolognaise for tea (only your old brother has the smelly parmesan cheese with his, you have cheddar cheese grated on top). Watch the Generation Game with Bruce Forsyth and then 'Allo 'Allo. Fall asleep at about 8pm and get carried to bed by your parents.
