I recently posted this rebuttal to someone else's fucking retarded comment on the "scene" and I think it needs to be shared;
.:.
"Maybe if you had the first clue on what you were talking about, your comments would be more informative and less pathetic.
You can't compare a shift in social culture to cars, that's just stupid.
You have no clue that nothing worth consuming has been innovated. When was the last time you ever promoted a night, opened a club, sold art or fashion. When was the last time you went out to even try and contribute? Cause if you haven't, then you are no better then what you speak of.
I have, I've been a part of many clubs opening and closing. I've worked retail across many markets. I am close to those designers whom continue to work hard at satisfying the "demands of the people". The problem is, we are in a cultural evolution and playing blaming games doesn't help squat.
Even Toronto has tried to change and evolve to help keep the scene open and moving forward, but you know what happens? Every pretentious club goer and scenester bitches about the $10 ticket to cover the cost of DJs. They bitch about a $5 beer to cover the cost of operating a venue. Shit ain't free, but every dumb ass in this city seems to believe that they are owed the world for free. Well guess what, it is exact egos and attitudes like that for which have put us this way.
Yes, people's financial situations aren't always great, but guess what; the people that are out there risking their own businesses for you need to make something to live too. Clubs, DJs, Promoters, Musicians, Shops, Art, Fashion; all of this has a cost to create and keep running, yet no one wants to pay for it. Instead you all bitch about a few dollar cover and a quarters increase on domestic. Well guess what, just like you need to make a bit more money to cover the inflation of the world around you, so does the rest of the world.
Ya know what, too? You are all lucky you've had it this good for this long. Club owners don't want to increase drink prices, just like promoters don't want to increase the cover charge... but they have to. Hell, most don't and that is the biggest reason why so many venues fall apart and eventually close, cause they wasted their time and success on trying to make you all happy by keeping drink prices down. Cause god knows as soon as there is the slightest mention of an increase in price, you all bitch loud and clear and pull a huge ego act; "Well! I am not going to DarkRave if the price goes up $5!".
...that's my short rant, because most of you will shrug off what I've said... but guess what, I've worked in culture and scene and entertainment long enough to see all the trends and call it like it is. If you don't agree with me, ask ANY REAL DJ, Promoter, Venue Owner, or anyone else who has half a clue and works their lives into the ground to make sure you and your precious friends have a good Saturday night... just to hear you bitch more about it.
pfft"

If you honestly disagree with any of this, chances are you are more a part of the problem with this god forsaken city, then you are a part of the solution. And don't bother even arguing unless you have walked HALF the life I have and actually have half a fucking clue about what actually happens in the world OUTSIDE OF YOU! Toronto, get the fuck off your high horses, cause the lot of you hasn't a fucking clue even how to be human.

It lost its awesomeness quite some time ago.
Scenesters are only a small fragment of the problem.
