I have a temporary cat.
Not an organism that is a cat right now but will eventually be something else, but a cat that is mine temporarily.
I suppose the correct way to phrase the sentence would be, "I temporarily have a cat," but I like to say tempcat so shut up.
A friend of mine moved back in town from college. While there, she acquired this cat. Unfortunately, her living situation here does not allow her to keep it. So while she looks for a place of her own, the cat is living with me.
I think I explained all of this before in an earlier post. Anyway, her name is Paddles, her collar is pink with bows on it, and all of her cat paraphernalia is pink. None of this was up to me, and I'm not allowed to alter any of it. So... well, whatever, I guess it doesn't make much difference. It's not like I have to walk her around in public with all this stuff.
Paddles is already used to me after only a few days (she "moved in" on Friday night), and is currently laying on my bed staring at the ceiling fan. It's not even moving. Dumb cat.
I've never owned a cat before. It's fun. I like how little I actually have to do. The only problem is that I need to train her to stay off the couch, or to at least be more gentle with it. It's a leather couch, and she's left a few claws marks. That's not from intentionally scratching it up (she's been pretty good about this), it's from jumping on it and chasing what I assume is an invisible mouse. She's now holding her tail with both front paws and licking the tip. What a disgusting creature.
If I get three or more requests to put up a picture, I will. Until then, I won't. I refuse to become Single Guy Who Posts Pictures Of And Tells Stories About His Cat.
Except this, of course. She just chased the invisible mouse off my bed and into the other room.
