After seeing the cute girl at the comic store, I felt a sudden need to buy more comics. So I'm visiting about once a week, coincidentally enough on Sunday, when she always seems to be there.
If I'm buying comics, I want to actually read them, so I focus on picking up any stuff by Warren Ellis that I haven't yet read. You may or may not be nerd enough to know who he is. Do yourself a favor, comic book nerd or not, and read Transmetropolitan. No superheroes involved. Just a damn good political story in the guise of sci-fi. In fact, here. First issue for free, you can read it right at your computer.
Anyhow, so Ellis has a ridiculous number of other books out and he always manages to impress me. Even if the concept seems like something I wouldn't like, he's so far managed to surprise me and grab my interest with only one exception. I'm trying to follow up on the various series of his that I've missed, one of which is called "Fell".
I couldn't find it in the store, so I grabbed a couple other books (Planetary - good stuff, also by Ellis) and went up to the counter. The cute girl rang them up for me, and, seeking some way to start conversation, I asked if she knew where I could get a trade of Fell.
"Oh, it's right over there."
I didn't see it because it was on the Employee Pick shelf.
Guess which employee picked it.
So once I read that, I have a good reason to start a real conversation with her. Huzzah.
-------------------
I finally beat The Hand That Feeds on Expert mode.
Uh, in Rock Band.
Um, on drums.
Right, now you're caught up.
So anyway, I blew past the next tier immediately. That was no big deal, but it was somewhat exhausting. Goddamned Sabbath and their ridiculous use of the kick pedal. GET A DOUBLE KICK IF YOU'RE GOING TO USE IT THAT MUCH, DAMN IT.
So, drenched in sweat and quite sore already, I forged onto the next tier.
Fuck, man. Shit's gettin' real real. I'm going to have to come back for some of those tomorrow, once I'm rested.
The craziest thing about this is that I know some of the songs that I have yet to reach, like Enter Sandman, are no big deal. But this stuff before it... yeesh.
---------------
I don't know why you people read this thing. All of this was completely pointless and uninteresting to anyone who isn't me. But if I don't update it, I feel like I'm slacking off. So I continue to fill it with pointless crap, and for some reason you guys read it. Really, don't feel obligated.

Thank you for your condolences....what you said has been the only thing that has made me feel remotely better about the situation.
