Got the My Chemical Romance album back!!! Yes.
I've got a problem.
These I reccomend.
Dillinger Escape Plan - Miss Machine. Brutal hardcore, like crossing Converge with FNM. Good stuff.
Isis - Panoptica. Ambient Metal. Expansive soundscapes combined with brutal riffing and the occasional caterwaul from beneath walls of impenetrable noise. Good stuff indeed.
Motion City Soundtrack - I am the Movie. On Epitaph (don't let that put you off) this is a pop record with punk smarts. Off-kilter, wry and genuinely interesting and original. Reminds me of something else I can't quite place...
Evergreen Terrace - Writers block. I've been hearing a bit about these guys but haven't had the chance to check anything out. Given this is a covers record. Classic covers too and don't start thinking 'Me First & the Gimme Gimmes' either. It seems the release was a stop-gap until they had some new material. Sunday bloody Sunday, Mad World, Knowledge and Zero all stand-up tall against the originals with hardcore fury!
Plus!
A D&B/jungle rework of Kanye West's, Jesus Walks...
Calibre & High Contrast, Mr Majestic. On Signature and INCREDIBLE!
Matrix & Danny J - Telepathy/Domino, new on BC Recordings, incredible roller with ace pads and synths...Check out Kiwi's 'the Upbeats' with 4 x 12" released on BC recordings leading up to dropping their album.
AND! A freaking jungle remix of a Bounty Killer tune I can't pick...
I guess 'reviewing' these items justifies spending so much cash on them now huh?!!
Thats it...for now.
