long weekends are excellent. bbqs, playing the drums and sleep-ins like you've never slept in.
dad is out of hospital and hes ok.
I didn't get all the cure albums because they didn't have the ones I wanted to start with!
So I got, PJ Harvey, Rid Of Me. the Best of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and I can't stop listening to 'Red Right Hand' and 'Into My Arms'.
An old Coheed and Cambria album. the first Frank Black album! Oh and one of those portable Vetax turntables, 'Handy Trax', what a cool toy that is...not really that portable cos you have to put 8 double-d batteries in there?! What the? 8 batteries?
Still I got to play Richard Marx, Right Here Waiting for You and Poison, Talk Dirty to Me last night. Still classics. How can Richard Marx not move you? I'm sure him and Bryan Adams are the same guy...Bryan never scaled the giddy heights of Richard Marx's mullet, but he has made a comeback, albeit even more AC than before. And this has got me thinking about 80's rockers, how can you call your band Bon Jovi when there are definitely other players there contributing to the sound? Dave Grohl could get away with that with the Foo Fighters but Bon Slippery When Wet Jovi? That was the first tape I bought. I love tapes, I can only listen to them in the car but they still have a quality that is totally endearing. Not quite antiquated. Rewinding! A test in patience. Besides I've only got old records like A Storm in Heaven and all the Sonic Youth albums on tape, so its the the only way I'll hear them. Stacks I've got on tape just can't be found on CD/vinyl anymore. The Dwarves 'Blood Guts and Pussy', NOWHERE! One of the best album covers ever, probably the best punk band on Sub Pop.
I hope my Swami order gets here tomorrow.
What has red underpants and flies?
Superman.
