Well I finally took the plunge and set up a print store! You can purchase gallery-quality prints of my work here:

Time for the usual photo/painting dump and thought collection. First off, I got tattooed by the talented Ema Sweeney. I've been a big fan of her work for a while now, it was a real pleasure sitting for her (I say pleasure, this was incredibly painful for some reason):
Here are some of my latest paintings. I'm really happy with how my work is going right now, I think all the studies and practice are paying off. This does of course mean I'll despise all of it in a few weeks, but I may as well enjoy the uptime :) Getting some of my Lovecraft influence in there, I've been rereading some of my favourites lately and it seems to be seeping into my imagination:
As always you can see more of this stuff at www.paulscottcanavan.com (and, you know, buy lovely prints <3)
I had an ace day in Troon on Friday - can't beat walking on the beach with a dog and a beautiful girl. We found lots of washed up jellyfish so I course I took a thousand photographs; they're so intricate and delicate and unique, I think it's the first time I have ever been so close to them. I have always been obsessed with the ocean, it was always my first choice to study at university. It's funny to think how different my life would be now had I chosen the path of marine biology (I'd probably be shivering on a boat in the middle of the sea right now).
While we were there we discovered my girlfriend's father has essentially tamed a jackdaw. He's been coming down to feed on peanuts and grapes, and seems to have built up a reasonable level of trust. I suppose dog food will come next, then he'll get a spare bedroom. I love crows so much, such smart creatures. This bird is clearly taking advantage of the stupid humans.
And of course I can't finish this journal without a photo of a ferret wrapped in ribbons. You will never meet a more indignant creature.
Until next we meet.
