So life in the big city is crazy exciting! I love my 2 jobs, but I'm still looking for a serving job in BK.. any suggestions? I've been all over CL...
Also, are there any NYC people around that would want to get together? Or any SG events? Its really hard to meet people out here when you're so busy!!!
SOOOO much is going on! I have a job at NYLON Magazine and HAUTE LIVING MAGAZINE! I am moving to NYC on March 8... my dreams are coming true... my head is gonna explode!! Who lives in NYC that wants to hook up?~
The name of my trip to NYC is either going to be: My subterranean adventure or 40 ways to die in Brooklyn.
Within the first 24 hours upon my arrival I:
Drank my weight in Jameson.
Was exposed to a J- shaped dick I was not expecting. (It sobered me up, I was so frightened)
Met my doppleganger.
Got attacked by a pitbull. (I am... Read More
I finally got around to reactivating my account. I'm glad to be back! I missed you all! I've very excited about 3 things:
1. I'm engaged!
2. I am working as a reporter for a local newspaper, as well as freelancing regularly for Outlook Columbus and AMMO magazine. Ugh it's so fulfilling and nice to be doing real journalism and not being threatened/sexually... Read More

So recently two of my very close friends have moved to the big apple. One got a job as a sous chef at some midtown spot- and the other got a job at a posh salon as a stylist. I am soo proud of both of them. Their achievements made me reflect on my own.
I got a couple friends who just moved up there? Do you remember seeing Backspace at Wall? They all moved to NYC. I am trying to go visit a friend up there and the end of the month as well... Good luck!
moving to ny isn't that hard really. obviously it's easier if you know people, and it seems that you do. so take a trip out for a bit and crash with your friends and go out and check out some areas that aren't tourist shit.
if you want to live somewhere cool or trendy expect to pay a ridiculous amount in rent. it is very likely you will need roomates, and that can be nerve racking depending on who you find. people are dirty, or psycho or whatever...
NY is awesome because you can get anywhere through public transportation, there are things open at all hours of the day, cuisines from all over the globe are readily accessible, the arts are prevalent with shows and museums and music. and almost everyone you meet will not be a native NYer.
it's expensive, but if you're smart you can transition easily. feel free if you have any questions. i have lived here just about 6 months now
Wednesday- I was in the ER for a Kidney Infection.... alone
Thursday I got my hair done- excited that I was getting the chance for the first time in months... After orange highlights (that weren't intentional) to dying it all over black AGAIN- to asking for a cool new haircut... After 5 hrs and 107 dollars later I ended up w/... Read More
It never rains but it pours. I'm sorry that things are going so badly, especially when you're already feeling crappy.
It's an unpleasant feeling feeling alone, but it's surprising how many people can relate to what you're going through, even if they don't know Lacey personally. My gf lost her best friend Miriam a similar way and I know what she went through afterwards.
Hope things get better for you soon. There are lots of people on SG that would be glad to listen if you need to talk.
Im following you on twitter, feel free to follow back !(@GiniColorful)
