Believe me, I know. All too damn well. It's why I avoid the discussion of politics altogether most of the time. I got sick of being jumped by a posse of winged monkeys.
With attention turning to the next big economic stimulus package, questions are still swirling about our economic troubles. How did we get here? How do we get out? As usual, Washington has all the wrong answers. According to many politicians, we got here by not spending enough, not consuming enough,... Read More
Amid the chaos of recent days, as the federal government has taken gargantuan steps to stabilize the financial markets, realigning the U.S. economic system in the process, comes a nearly universal consensus: This crisis resulted from government reluctance to regulate the unbridled greed of Wall Street. Many economists and market participants who were... Read More
I did catch Goldust on Raw. He's still pretty damn good in the ring. The character obviously isn't as edgy as it used to be, but it's still interesting enough.
James Poniewozik writes TIME magazine's Tuned In column, about pop culture and society. Tuned In, the blog version, is about the stuff we used to call "TV," whether it's in your living room, on your computer or--once the networks figure out the technology and line up the advertisers--in your dreams themselves.... If Barney Frank is picked for anything other than dog walker, I'll probably have a 4-year-long panic attack. But I doubt that will happen. He's been in congress so long, and Obama seems to want to have fresh faces all around. Change! Or so I tell myself.
Madam Speaker, I have, for the past 35 years, expressed my grave concern for the future of America . The course we have taken over the past century has threatened our liberties, security and prosperity. In spite of these long-held concerns, I have days--growing more frequent all the time--when I'm convinced the time... Read More

NEW YORK (CNN) -- "Jobs Americans just won't do."
I can't stand that line, but more importantly, I don't even understand it.
Americans spend months at a time at sea fishing for crab or drilling for oil; two of the most dangerous jobs in the world. Americans clean bathrooms, subway stations and crime scenes.... Read More
hey, congrats on getting the article up! I must apologize for being one of the naysayers.....however, you must understand, it's a knee jerk reaction when thinking about CE - that anything oppositional to the rampant Obama stance is deemed unsanitary and taken out to the "news garbage"....so yeah, way to push back!!
Is this it? If it is, thanks for telling me about it. I'm getting to the point where I can't watch Olbermann's show anymore. He may as well be on the Obama campaign payroll. I do enjoy his "Worst Person In The World" and "Oddball" segments, but that's about it these days. I do like Matthews, though. Always have.
Excited? Maybe. I am definitely interested to see how Barr shapes up in terms of the media exposure. The more I learn about him, the more I see him as kind of an opportunist. Not that it bothers me, but he's far less interesting or forceful a candidate to me than Paul.
Bottom line: I probably will vote LP in November, but I am gonna keep only the Paul bumper sticker on my car.

NEW YORK (CNN) -- There is an industry in this country that is making billions in profit while average Americans are struggling to fill up their gas tanks.
It's an industry that made an average profit of nearly 17 percent in 2007 while most Americans could barely keep up with inflation.
Aw yeah.
