Since I didn't get the job, and felt like I was treated like shit during my interview for a management position, this was my response to the ocompany upon being told they were pursuing other candidates, but that I was welcome to join them for a job fair for hourly employees.
I will not be attending this event. I feel that I was patronized by the interviewer, and was not give a fair chance. He rarely looked me in the eye during our conversation, said I was, "Too young" to be a butcher, told me that, "Meat men are meat men," when he asked which department I would prefer (Produce or Meat). He completely discredited my past managerial role since it was in a co-op, saying, "So, it wasn't real retail." He went so far as to openly chuckle at some of my responses to his queries. I could not have been more disappointed by my treatment and my interviewer's lack of professionalism. Because I have only this experience on which to base my opinion of the company, I have no desire to obtain employment with Earth Fare.
I realize that I should have voiced my concerns before gaining knowledge of your intent to pursue other candidates. However, had I done so, my words would have been much more harsh and I may have gone over the line.
I truly hope that you take my response to heart, and speak with this individual in regards to his lack of professionalism when interviewing younger candidates.
Thank you very much for your consideration, as it was.
Sincerely,
Tim Struble
