Alright ... I said I'd have cool and I'll prolly disappoint completely.
So background info ... I've always kinda had a crush for the lead singer of Kittie. Even when she had that odd short hair cut ... there was something about her that was yummy.
Anyways ... while I have had that lil crush, I have had a bad taste in my mouth for the band. I've always thought they had a wealth of talent ... but just didn't know how to use it. I couldn't stand the growling lyrics, the screaming, etc. Actually ... in my college newspaper when I reviewed their CD, I said it was a waste of 36 minutes and that the girls should personally repay every person that listened to the album for wasting their time.
So ... two weekends ago I was at the girlfriends place watching MuchLoud (uhh ... for the Americans out there ... Loud is kinda like MTV ... only with balls - they play rock ... real rock. Hard rock ... good stuff rock. Yay rock.) and see a new video for Kittie for the song "Into the Darkness."
I actually got a semi from watching. (And I don't mean a tractor trailer).
It had a small bit to do with the fact that Morgan looked fucking smoking damn hot in the video ... but more for the fact that ... IT DIDN'T SUCK! It was actually a good song ... and there was more reliance on singing that yelling.
So anyways ... got home on the Sunday and went on AIM and saw my buddy Chris online.
Chris has done websites for a few bands, including Lennon and some other smaller bands ... and is also the co-founder of my site (www.rock-comics.com ... gotta love shameless plugs).
Knowing that he is doing the Kittie site now, I messaged him and told him that my crush for Morgan grew that much more thanks to the video I saw.
He asks me if I planned on going to the Toronto show that was coming up. Me not being a giant fan, I knew nothing about it.
So he sets me up with two free tickets to the show.
Cool beans.
But that isn't the coolest part.
He also sets it up that I have a photographers pass. So I'll pretty much be hanging out with Kittie all day, taking some promotion shots before the concert, concert pictures and pictures afterwards with the fans.
Sweet freaking beans. I get to hang out with Kittie and see a concert for free.
And take alllllllllllllll the pics I feel like. Me thinks imma see if I can get one of them to flash me. That's my goal for the day.
So ... sorry Jem ... no evil plans in the good news ... unless you count my goal stated above as evil.

Well...no, come to think of it. But she is my sister. I've seen her boobs before.

awesome! i always liked them (yeah, partially because i thought the lead singer was super-cute). i think the fact that they were so young when they put out the first album has a lot to with it. it was a little disappointing- i really love a couple songs on it, including the single, but the others were just... bleh. the thing that bothered me most is that it was pretty obvious that the lyrics were written by a teenage girl. i mean, they had/have the potential. i just think they needed to mature as musicians and as songwriters. i haven't heard the new album, but i'll probably pick it up. you have to post Kittie pics after the show, though- bonus points for a pic of you hugging on the lead singer!
