I've always had a problem with going to movie theatres to see films.
A lot of it had to do with the whole situation behind it. I mean ... why pay to rent a seat for a few hours and be surrounded by a bunch of people you don't know, many of them usually highly annoying, pay way too much for popcorn and pop, fight having to go to the bathroom if needbe, as damnit, you might miss something and of course ... the lovely sticky shoes is a great take home prize.
So .... knowing all that .... I went to see Harry Potter 3 on Friday. And not just at any old theatre ... no no ... as per my girlfriends suggestion ... we had to see it on IMAX - 'cause it makes the experience of seeing the movie that much better. BS to me ... it was just bigger and louder. It didn't make the movie any better at all.
Wanna know what it did do though? It made my wallet lighter by $16.50!!!
Umm ... I mean ... for my ticket alone. Not both. And there was no pop corn, pop, candy or free blow job included in this price. This was just to rent a seat, get a small square of paper and some sticky shoes.
Wells damn ... I'm glad I listen to my gf sometimes.
That money definitely couldn't have been used elsewhere ... like ... maybe ... a used DVD ... which I can buy for like $10. Or ... you know ... three for the price it cost the two of us to watch the same movie.
*sigh* funny how my girlfriend kept complaining that we never went on a real date like going to the movies or something and yadda yadda yadda ... "no relationship is real unless you've gone to see a movie" was basically her argument.
Yup ... speaking of arguments ... seeing a damn movie caused one. lol.
Anyways ... speaking of the movie ... overall, it wasn't too bad. I'm not going to say why I liked it and why I didn't just in case someone reading this out there hasn't seen it yet nor read the book and plans on it. I hate people ruining movies for me ... I have no plans on ruining it for someone else.
I will say however, that I find it funny that Rupert Grint plays Ron Weasley. Is it just me ... or does Rupert Grint sound more like a name you'd hear bandied about in a fantasy-like book rather than Ron Weasley??
Anyways ... I'm sitting down here trying to write this and for whatever reason, my mom is just sitting beside me staring at everything I'm doing. I think she is trying to learn all about the internet through osmosis or something. But damnit ... it's freaking annoying to have someone hanging out over your shoulder looking at everything you do. I don't think she's ever heard of personal space.
On top of that, she doesn't know I smoke cigarettes, let alone pot ... or dilly dally on adult websites. So here I am writing, not even thinking of it, and she sees my profile pic and asks if it was me. Damn did I have a hard time trying to convince her it wasn't me and just co-incidentally looks EXACTLY like me.
Anyways ... back to the subject at hand ... DVD's. I decided to count how many DVD's I have. Anyone wanna hazard a guess?? Come on ... place your bets now!!!
FIFTY-FUCKING-TWO.
I have 52 DVD's. Pretty damn impressive for someone who doesn't own a DVD player.
Yup ... I'm lame. But my DVD collection is pretty impressive I'd say:
Beetlejuice, It, Strange Days, Bowling For Columbine, Donnie Darko, Gummo, The Doors, Porn Star - the life of Ron Jeremy, A Knights Tale, Office Space, Silence of the Lambs, Spider Man, The Craft, Evil Dead, Matrix, Animatrix, Matrix Reloaded, Natural Born Killers, Showgirls, Sleepy Hollow, Happy Tree Friends volume 1, American Pie 2, American Wedding, Around The Fire, Lost Highway, WWE Diva's Tropical Pleasure, WWE RAW 10th Anniversary Special, Half Baked, From Hell, What Dreams May Come, Tron, Dogma (special edition), Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Clerks, UHF, Hackers, Death To Smoochy, The Sweetest Thing, T2, T3, Original Sin, Ginger Snaps, Pink Floyd's The Wall, Pink Floyd - the Dark Side of the Moon, the Ice Storm, Species, Caddyshack, 8 Mile, Visions of Ibiza, The Simpsons season 2 and Family Guy seasons 1-3.
EDITED TO ADD SOME I FORGOT
I totally forgot I had Scooby Doo, Kill Bill and Harry Potter 1 and 2 on ... um ... "special" DVD's and have three Girls Gone Wild DVD's. So that brings it all up to ... 60. Damn I suck.
I just wish I had something to play these on sometimes. *sigh*
Anyone wanna kidnap me that has a DVD player? I cuddle nicely.
